Redesign of the memorial park near the Arena

The redesign of Tito’s park, not far from Pula’s amphitheatre, emphasizes its memorial character. The previous messy arrangement of national heroes’ busts undervalued their commemorative message. The contemporary solution, characterized by geometric forms, symbolically highlights a revolutionary era and its heroes. The memorial space, with its central monument, is integrated by form and pattern in the entire monumental area. The project represents a small spatial intervention that tries to be a step forward in the design philosophy of modern parks. It gives this park recognizability while showing respect for its culture and history.
